The ‘Caravane des dix mots’ forms part of the ‘Dis-moi dix mots’ initiative, organised annually by the Ministry of Culture. This scheme invites organisations from all walks of life to develop a literary or artistic project centred on the French language, with the aim of highlighting its richness, vitality and ability to evolve in order to describe today’s world.
For the Caravan, this initiative is above all an opportunity for people to come together and be creative. Through the ten words proposed each year, it engages in artistic projects that celebrate the French language whilst promoting intercultural dialogue and linguistic diversity.

The ‘Tell Me Ten Words’ scheme
Tell me ten words that describe the world as it will be in 2026!
Alunir, anticipation, continuum, dystopian, humanoid, particle, programme, theory, transmute, sidereal
This year, ‘Dis-moi dix mots’ invites us to reflect on the future: the 2026 edition
Speech is set free, spoken softly or loudly, with or without an accent. It is delivered in speeches, exchanged during debates, staged in the theatre, and leaves plenty of room for improvisation.
Further information and resources on the ten words (exhibitions, teaching packs, etc.) can be found on the French Ministry of Culture’s website: dismoidixmots.culture.gouv.fr

Practical arrangements
Pricing: La Caravane offers a sliding-scale pricing structure for organisations on a tight budget. Rates vary depending on the size of your project and the number of workshops planned: please contact us for further details. In some cases, travel costs may apply.
Workshop duration: a Caravane workshop consists of 6 hours of an artist working with an audience. A workshop programme may combine several workshops and several different artists over a given period.
Practical requirements: each Caravane artist brings the equipment required for their workshop; it is essential to provide a suitable venue for the session.

Workshops to raise awareness of linguistic diversity
The workshops on linguistic diversity are designed and conceived as spaces for exchange, debate and the joint development of knowledge and tools, enabling participants to form an informed opinion on linguistic diversity so that they can address it in their daily lives, at school and in the workplace in an objective and thoughtful manner.
There are 3 workshops on offer:
– Thinking about and exploring languages
– Am I a French speaker?
– Languages under the microscope
Our workshops are eligible for the Pass Culture and can be booked via Adage.
Please contact us so that we can arrange a provisional booking for you on Adage.

THINKING ABOUT AND EXPLORING LANGUAGES
Linguistic diversity is everywhere: accents, regional varieties, national multilingualism, cross-border contacts, migration patterns… and promoting it raises social, educational, ethical and civic issues. Indeed, linguistic diversity is often seen as an obstacle, a barrier that hinders mutual understanding and fuels conflict. History shows us that languages can be both instruments and key players in relationships characterised by inequality and domination between individuals and social groups. We are offering a workshop that allows participants to see and hear linguistic diversity and legitimises its use in the public sphere.

AM I A FRANCOPHONE?
The Francophonie is characterised by immense cultural, religious and linguistic diversity. There are many French languages – vibrant, inventive and constantly evolving – all of which are equally legitimate. This is why we speak of ‘Francophonies’ in the plural, in contrast to a political and strictly French-centric view of the French language. The aim, therefore, is to celebrate the diversity of French across the globe.

LANGUAGES UNDER SCRUTINY
We felt that the ‘card’ format was ideally suited to conveying the questions we grapple with – and which drive us – particularly in a world characterised by numerous, varied and complex forms of mobility. The 24 cards provided cover a wide range of everyday topics relating to languages and linguistic and cultural diversity. The workshop will take place in two parts: the first part will involve exploring the cards and making initial attempts at spontaneous answers to the questions; the second part will seek to propose collective responses to the various questions.
