Through its experiences and encounters around the world, La Caravane des dix mots wanted to offer the public an event that would showcase the richness of linguistic and cultural diversity in our contemporary world, without glossing over its complexity. Thus, in 2018, the idea for the Biennale was born.
The Language Biennial has received support from numerous prominent figures and institutions. It is honoured to be sponsored by Henriette Walter, professor emeritus of linguistics, president of the International Society of Functional Linguistics and member of the Higher Council of the French Language.
The Biennale has come a long way and has been held three times. The first was virtual in 2021, the second was in person in 2022. The third took place in May 2024, and the next one is scheduled for May 2026!
